From youth to seniors, Northern Lights has a league for everyone!
Northern Lights Recreation is home to some of Northern Michigan’s most active and welcoming bowling leagues. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor, a casual player, or just looking for a fun night out, we’ve got a league for you.
All leagues meet weekly or bi-weekly at Northern Lights in Harbor Springs and include both sanctioned and non-sanctioned options for adults, youth, and seniors.
League Listings
Type: Sanctioned (Grades 4–12)
Time: Mondays – Warm-up 5:20 PM | Bowling 5:30 PM
Season: Sept 15 – Mar 16 (21 weeks, break at Christmas)
Cost: $10 per week + $20 one-time sanction/banquet fee
Notes:
- Teams formed by age/ability; certified coach available.
- Year-end awards & banquet.

Type: Non-sanctioned | Ages 60+**
Time: Tuesdays – Practice 12:30 PM | Bowling 12:45 PM
Season: Year-round weekly play
Cost: $9 for two games + optional $1 jackpot drawing
Notes:
- Relaxed and social atmosphere.
- Coaching help available for all participants.

Type: Sanctioned USBC | Competitive
Teams: 5-person (Men, Women, or Mixed)
Time: Wednesdays – Practice 6:15 PM | Bowling 6:30 PM
Season: Early Sept – April (31 weeks)
Cost: $20 per night + $28 USBC sanction fee (first night)
Notes:
- Competitive handicapped league for adult bowlers.
- 3-game format each night.

Time: Thursdays – Practice 6:20 PM | Bowling 6:30 PM
Season: 31 weeks, beginning September (typical)
Cost: $20 per night + $28 sanction fee (first night)

- Relaxed but competitive atmosphere.
- All abilities welcome; fun social night out.

Time: Every other Sunday – Warm-up 5:15 PM | Start 5:30 PM
Season: Round 1: Sept 28 – Jan 4 | Round 2: Jan 18 – Apr 19
Cost: $20 per night (payouts nightly via random ticket drawing)
Notes:
- 9-pin scoring (9 counts as a strike).
- Join as a team or solo — we’ll find you a lane!
- Great for casual bowlers looking for a fun night out.
