Here at Northern Lights Recreation, we are hoping you are having an excellent summer!

As fall approaches, so will the new bowling leagues.  If you have never bowled in a league with us, this is a great time to get involved.  Bowling in a league is a fun night out with family, friends and/or co-workers.  It is relatively inexpensive, great exercise and relaxing, yet competitive.   Here at Northern Lights, we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our center.  The alleys are non-smoking, which makes having dinner while bowling even more enjoyable. We have designated areas for smokers, as well. 

Northern Light Recreation has leagues for all skill levels and ages at various times depending on the league that you join.

You have questions. We have answers.

Q:  What if I don’t have a team?
A:  First you need to decide which league and evening best suites your needs.  Stop in here at Northern Lights or give us a call at 231-347-3100 and we will help you get into the perfect league.

Q:  What if there are days that I can not bowl with my team?
A:  Bowling in a league is very flexible.  You can have a substitute bowler if you cannot make it, or you can choose to use an absentee score.

Q:  How much is bowling in a league?
A:  The fees vary by league, but average around $13.00 per bowler per week for the leagues listed below.  This includes prize funds and some banquet fees.  Sanction fees are a one-time fee of approximately $20.00 per bowler.  Being sanctioned qualifies you for local, state, and national awards.  It also enables you to bowl in state and national tournaments.

Q:  I don’t know if I’m good enough to bowl on a team.
A:  All leagues are handicapped. This allows for fair competition between inexperienced bowlers and the most seasoned bowlers.

Northern Lights also builds "just for fun" leagues all year, so if you don’t see a league you’re interested in, call anyway and we’ll put you on the list to call for other fun leagues as they are formed.
